When it was announced that Tom Cruise would play the vampire Lestat in this adaptation of Anne Rice's bestselling novel, even Rice chimed in with a highly publicized objection. The author wisely and justifiably recanted her negative opinion when she saw Cruise's excellent performance, which perceptively addresses the pain and chronic melancholy that plagues anyone cursed with immortal bloodlust. Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst are equally good at maintaining the dark and brooding tone of Rice's novel. And in this rare mainstream project for a major studio, director Neil Jordan compensates for a lumbering plot by honoring the literate, Romantic qualities of Rice's screenplay. Considered a disappointment while being embraced by Rice's loyal followers, the movie is too slow to be a satisfying thriller, but it is definitely one of the most lavish, intelligent horror films ever made. --Jeff Shannon

Slader plays a reporter
that interviews
Vampire Lestat (played
by Cruiz). Lestat tells his
life and history
adventures of his dark
worlda vampire
while still intriged
Slader convinced
records its history. Lestat
fastinated is lonely and
with a rich young man
man (Pitt) who, after
his wife died, he
nothing to lose and nothing
has a longer life.
Perhaps you could give Lestat
a better life for
Pitt empty .... An elderly
classic class
hidden humor. Have fun!
A walk in the dark past - Sandra Dee - Ocean Springs,MS USAI bought this movie for my daughter as she requested. I like the two stars acting abilities. In this fantasy yester years you could see the conflict of emotions. I felt that there was much more that could be done with the story without all the gory details. After all that they do all vampires.
great quality - numbnutz - was very impressed with the quality of this movie of my favorites on Blue ray.
Its maybe better than DVD but Blu Ray...not the best - europa - CA,USAAt first I thought I had problems with my TV or PS3 for Blu Ray but dosent seem alive. I bought it at Target for $ 10 not so disappointed .... I love the movie much but the quality seems better than the Edward scissor hands wow thats worth buying.
