There was so much story left to tell after I Know What You Did Last Summer that the filmmakers brought back all the beloved, surviving characters from the first film for this sequel. Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt), and Julie's white tank top (Jennifer Love Hewitt's white tank top) return to once again face a hook-wielding maniac. Not satisfied merely to repeat a theme, director Danny Cannon and screenwriter Trey Callaway add variation by introducing Karla (Brandy) as Julie's best friend in the whole wide world. Karla and Julie have won a summer trip to the Bahamas with their current infatuations but find that they've arrived at the start of the storm season and that at their hotel "Do Not Disturb" signs should flip to say "R.I.P." One can only hope to hang just such a sign on this repetitive, tedious franchise, especially since this version is less scary than the price of beer in those little hotel room refrigerators. Definite contender for Gratuitous T&A Shot of the Year (it's of Hewitt and that's not meant as a recommendation). --Keith Simanton

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is a very good sequel to the hit 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer and, in my opinion, is a very underrated film. Instead of making this film almost exactly the same as the original, as most of the horror film-makers seem to be doing, this movie has a totally different setting for the first - a Holliday resort in the Bahamas!

Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and her best friend and roommate Karla (Brandy) win a compition for radio and win a holidayfour in the Bahamas. Karla takes her boyfriend Tyrell (Mekhi Phifer) and Julie takes her new love interest Will (Matthew Settle). Arrival and hotel accommodation (which I admitt, it was a bit 'a realistic point of the film as there are only five or six members of staff and apparently other guests, but it is the off-season).

Julie begins to relax, enjoy the luxury and relaxation of the structure, but, unknown to Julie and her friends, the body count is rising and its notmuch earlier than expected words "know yet ..." Julie and appear again facing the wrath of Ben Willis.

Just as good as the orgional, this film is not one to miss. It 'scary as the orgional gorier and a bit' too much. This film also features an appearance by Jack Black and Ray (Freddy Price Jr) is back.

I highly recommend this film, especially if you enjoyed the original.

BluRay - Decent Improvement Over Original - The Tao of Netflix - Washington, DC
Being a ginormous fan of the series know, I had to buy this on Blu Ray when it came. Part 1 is surprisingly a very good transfer to Blu Ray and definitely worth the repurchase / upgrade. I Still Know is a little iffier. The picture quality is definitely improved, but not so substantial. My advice would be to stick with the original version of the DVD unless you are an avid fan of the film, as I am.

Starman I saw not long after it came out and always be remembered as bittersweet story was and how great were the main actors. I recently bought and watched it again and it's still a great movie and it's aged well. The background story and the acting is so good. It is not a movie to watch when you're PMS-ing. I choked at several points and it was a disaster for the end. Only a great chick film to add to your collection.

Be Patient; Don't Buy Fullscreen - M. LaBin - TX USA
John Carpenter is known only to shoot in anamorphic widescreen (except for his work on TV rare). He is a master of the 16:9 aspect ratio and scale plays an important role in his films. Why is this in fullscreen is anyone guess. And why did not the director's commentary - which is already available in Europe - is really weird. This is a strange movie for Carpenter, but he pulled out well ... worth a serious look but it is also worth waiting for a widescreen version that keeps so you can see all thefilm that contains the comment and usually helpful.

Other films are releasing their old catalog, but Bond still, I mean, many of us sold our standard DVD and Blu-ray available to buy, thinking the Remaining would come soon ... we gave so much of our money over the years, have, at least, we must let us know why they are releasing old titles, but not yet BOND on Blu-ray (it's even more annoying because it is well - know thatRestoration has already made by Lowry for all Bond movies, so this sounds like a bad plot Marketing). The "financial problems" explanation is obviously not true since it will continue to issue other securities.

A young farmer Caleb (Adrien Pasdar) is seduced by a hot girl named Mae (Jennifer Wright), but gets more than he expected when he bites his neck. You should finish it, but since they could not, his family of vampires have captured and Caleb. Since he was little 'give a small amount of time to make his first kill.

I've never actually heard of this film until recently and I do not know why it took so long for me to know. The film is well made with goodcast. Bill Paxton is at his coolest as Severen, the wildest of a family of vampires. I also think Lance Henrikson was really good as Jesse, the father figure of the vampire.

I believe that the film had the defect, however. I mean in the bar scene all victims just there watching in awe until it is their turn to food. While the cure for being a vampire is just idly introduced to the plot. The vampires that do not move super fast and carry weapons could disable someBut fans of the genre. I do not think we ever even see their fangs. But hey, if women can heat up so much to vampires who do not die on Sun and just sparkle, then you should take a chance Near Dark as well.

Although it is a bit 'predictable in places, all and everything that is not a bad movie. Adrian Pasdar stars in this film, best known as the doctor in the series Firefly and movie Serenity. (The box also mentions he was in 'Mysterious Ways', I may have to check that out) co-star is Jenny Wright, said he was in Terminator and Aliens, even if I re-watch and watch for her as I remember the part she played.

supporting actors include LanceHenriksen, one of my favorites of mine, which offers a great performance as usual, as the leader of the gang of vampires. Bill Paxton is the really bad bad boy of the band and plays his part well. Moreover, Jenette Goldstein is the vampire of other women. He was also foreign and I remember his part in there and I wish she would have a larger part here.

If you're a fan of vampire movies, I recommend adding this to your list of movies to watch.




Superb sleeper 80's hit - Matthew B. Robbins - Purcellville, VA United States
This is a treatment unpretentious, simple, and great vampire story. Very '80s, but has aged well. strong dialogue, simple (yet relatable), characters and solid story / drama. But I note that Amazon says this movie brought Bill Paxton eye of James Cameron due to his wife (who directed).

Indeed, Paxton had played the role of leader of the gang of thugs that Arnold (like Terminator) killed for their clothes in Terminator Cameron. In 1984 - three yearsNear Dark before.

The Hitcher [Blu-ray] Overview

20 years is a long time in the lifeline of movie plot-arc necessities. It's also a pretty big generational stretch in the lives of audience demographics, which may be part of the reason the producers of this remake of the 1986 cult horror classic felt the need to update the original spare mano-a-mano backbone into a girl-and-mano-a-mano. The Twilight Zone-ish setup is still a pretty neat idea: regular guy on a lonely highway picks up a hitchhiker who turns out to be a psychopathic killer with some very unsettling supernatural might. Fans of the original could hardly hope for a demon villain with such creepy charisma as Rutger Hauer. But Sean Bean makes a respectable replacement, with his understated stare and stewing rage that brings a new brand of hair-raising devilry to the role of hitcher John Ryder. The lone "good guy" originated by a boyish C. Thomas Howell has been upgraded to a lovesick couple. In a twisty touch, Jim (Zachary Knighton, sorta unknown) and Grace (Sophia Bush, of One Tree Hill fame) trade gender roles, with Jim turning wimpy and feminine and Grace becoming a shotgun-toting testoster-ette. The body count's a little higher and the gore factor increased by the power of 20 (years), but some of the original film's set pieces remain much the same-- body-snapping case in point being an 18-wheeler being put to use as a old-fashioned torture rack. While the original might have placed a bit more emphasis on the philosophical and existential elements of evil passing from soul to soul, it wasn't exactly an intellectual thrill ride. Likewise, 2007's The Hitcher is no art film, and it can't be faulted for choosing fright and might for audiences that are always looking for bigger and more elaborate splats for their horror entertainment buck. And if you stick out your thumb for this one, expect plenty of splat. --Ted Fry

For starters, I'm tired of idiots who give away a whole story instead of just reviewing the movie. Each movie check-out, there is at least 5 idiots who give away everything, and not talk about the film (yes, you). So, with that, read on, if you're still interested.

This film is classified both as a thriller / horror. I would say that is more than a action-adventure/thriller. Sure, you'll see blood and gore, but for the most part, this is alaughs edge-of-your-seat action film. If it helps, I would say that this film has more action that your typical action movie. If you've got your typical movie, with about two hours of screen time, and cut all unnecessary BS jacked full of action, then you should get "The Hitcher."

The plot is simple seeem, and unknown actors do not give the best performance, but the film is still impressive, no matter what. If you are tired of the current situation of horrorgenre films from the past 8 years, then you might take a liking to this film. Whereas your typical so-called thriller / horror film follow the same lame story line predictable, this makes things just a little 'different. Furthermore, production, camera angles, camera and shooting are all high quality. This is a film that is not painful to watch because it was not shot properly, or the sound was off. film production was done right. As noted by other reviewers, the complaints arethroughout history, and film production.

The Bottom Line: Kick-a ** movie you'll watch again and again, defintely a surprise hit for me. I did not expect a new movie this good.

pickin' up strangers let me tell you 'bout the dangers - JGC -
Not having seen the original film had nothing to compare "The Hitcher" with nor have any expectations for it. Actually not true. Having seen my fair share of crappy "thriller" I do not expect a lot '.

The basic premise of this film depends on two facts essential to the plot, The Hitcher is this crazy psychopath who leap like a tiger (and who can seemingly be more places at once) and the police have these stupid stupid that I could 't save a personlife, if you really depended on it (by the way, I'd just see a movie with a smart cop made).

The movie overall was good and the performances were good. Although the couple, Grace and Jim (Sophia Bush, Zachary Knighton and) acted only under very overwhelmed. We've been chasing this one-man suicide bombers and the best they can do is run as if they were camping.

I do not want to give too much away, but the ending was extremely disappointing. I was expecting amuch more, I guess. Because there was almost an accumulation of something.

Another thing that I will never understand is why Jim has agreed to take the hitchhiker, who followed him into the store gasoline. It 'was employed the whole story, but these kids seemed too intelligent (at least she was) to take a stranger. It 's just very dangerous. But it still beats dealing with the airlines.




The Hitcher - Carl Manes -
The Hitcher begins with a young couple heading out for spring break on a long and lonely through New Mexico. A chance encounter with a hitchhiker killer leave them running for their lives in a sadistic game of cat and mouse. Sean Bean in steps of Rutger Hauer in the recent remake of the classic film, whose chiseled features and smile Razorblade it seem reliable until it shifts gears to his true self chilling. Bean is an excellent choice for John Ryder, and operates aexcellent performance that is worthy of the role. The addition of a second character from the beginning allows for some great need for dialogue (even if it is filler) throughout the previous scenes. The most obvious problem that exists with this release is the progression with which it shares a plot almost identical to the 1986 film, capitalizing on all the most memorable moments, with minimal changes. This makes it unnecessary at best, and turn over plagiarism at worst. Despite the similarities, remake Meyers agorecreate much of the same action and suspense, with great success, giving a clean look with decent quality although not able to produce something original. Overall, the public will find that The Hitcher is a fun representation of history, even if it is a clone.

The film was an attempt in a typical thriller. Overall, it was predictable and insubstantial character, and I was more angry with the heroines, their stupid decision then anything else. That said I found the film entertaining. The plot and the actors were all decent and not try to rely solely on the gore factor (though there was a good amount of it involved).

I hate it when the bill w hen its not remake the same story .. although I appreciate the addition of the girl from the beginning of history and short skirt ... I think its seriously lacking the chemistry between the two male characters and their bizarre relationship that enhances the original ... The good old B-movie flame burns bright in A Perfect Getaway, David Twohy's rip-snorting guessing game about a vacation gone very, very bad. It must have sounded nice in the planning stages: an isolated honeymoon trek to a remote beach on Kauai, with nothing but backpacks, Hawaiian breezes, and the occasional pleasant encounter with a fellow wayfarer on the hiking trail. That was the plan for newlyweds Cliff and Cydney, anyway, before a shocking murder in Honolulu, the night before the hike, raised the red flag of suspicion. What we're left with is six couples on a lonely trail in paradise, a murderer (but probably two murderers), and a great deal of anxiety. Cliff and Cydney are played by Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich; Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez are a pair of friendly but vaguely disturbing trailmates; Chris Hemsworth and Marley Shelton are a downright creepy couple who won't go away. Twohy has a knack for infectious concepts (see also Pitch Black and The Arrival) and this one is grabby; he's also got a mysterious ability to play the premise straight yet somehow have a great deal of fun with it (for instance, there's much trail talk about the rules of screenwriting, which comes across as playful rather than clumsily self-conscious). The casting works, even if it's difficult for Milla Jovovich to seem in danger from anybody else in the world. Timothy Olyphant is the standout, as a former Special Ops soldier whose survival skills are impressive-bordering-on-scary. Although the film is undeniably built as a whodunit, worry less about the big "reveal" than about having a good time with fun pulp material. This movie was good, you really must watch closely to see exactly what is happening. I would recommend this if you like action movies, not just romance.



Longest Scooby Doo episode EVER - Almost Home - The place where there is no darkness.
Hey, what do you know? Here's yet another "yellow" promising a stunning twist! The problem with any movie trying to out-twist The Sixth Sense or the original saw is that the possibility of such a torsion is limited. Take that knowledge in a movie where there are two pairs and one is probably a couple of psychopaths and have a 50/50 shot right out of the bag guess Which it is. When the "twist" explained the viewer is exposed in a series of flashbacks that seemserve a few purposes. First it seems that the writer / directory Twohy feels that his audience is too stupid to follow this story and, therefore, he must explain again and again for about 20 minutes in the middle of the film. The other is that maybe he realized at some point as weak and foolish the twist was and is trying to legitimize his story hoping that repetition will hypnotize the viewer into acceptance. In both cases the point of being offensive to thethe intelligence of the public. There really is not much to redeem this film in any way. The landscape is beautiful. I suppose on that note I would recommend Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series [] Blu-ray. Timothy Olyphant is a really fun character, but that is a novelty in those days. Only has a likability factor automatically injected into the characters he has played as of late. The film drags on and turns out really embarrassing as Steve Zahn, Steve-Zahns extends itsChops as extremely limited in a cut-and-paste caricature of a man leading. Milla Jovovich gives one of his worst performances portraying a character apparently no sense of self or any justification whatsoever. It could have been worse, however, the husband of Milla could wrote and directed it. This is really a shot at a star but Olyphant get a star himself. Overall it is a waste of time.

Movie really moves along, like the slow pace of a tortoise, the acting is pretty cardboard life as a TV movie. I really like Steve Zahn, but he does not bring any comic to film, not necessarily foreseeable, but also to sense what is coming. Making the killers obviously has never been something that has worked so effectively is that they were not the murderers if that makes sense. The whole movie is basically just a mesh with semi-thriller that does not go, but where low. On anothernote, the couple wed in new movie Weds and travel the known paths is very inaccurate, especially since not go on trails with 1,000 dangerous drop off with out a guide or gears. The fact that all couples in the film are going in the same direction and do the right field line near the ocean in a storm is not quite convincing. No Rangers, no driving, no sign and really no point in going anywhere. So the big island as the murderers would be calledit end up as small, by any chance? Maybe, maybe not. But when you start to enter the meat and potatoes of the movie truly does not care either. Poor dialogue, screenplay cheese and a really horrible story make you want to escape, this movie is. What a wreck. 2 stars for the beauty of Hawaii!
